Sam and I have been on a pizza kick lately. For our most recent pizza night, we decided to combine some of our favorite ingredients into one - arugula (me) and prosciutto (Sam) - a.k.a. verde pizza. Doesn't it look yummy?

Ingredients
- Pizza dough (we kept it simple and bought a 16 oz. bag of pre-made whole wheat dough from Trader Joe's)
- Prosciutto
- Pesto sauce
- Mozzarella
- Arugula
- Balsamic glaze (homemade recipe here)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Knead and form dough to your liking and place on lined tray
- Spread pesto sauce on top of dough and add mozzarella
- Place in oven for ten minutes or until dough rises
- Remove from oven and place prosciutto on top
- Place back in oven for five minutes
Let it cook for another five minutes or until it looks cooked enough for you. I recommend letting it sit for about five minutes before you sprinkle on the arugula and balsamic glaze.
Once you add the arugula and balsamic glaze, go ahead and it cut it up to your liking.
For someone who loves mozzarella, pesto and arugula, I can't believe I waited this long to make this pizza myself. I've had it at Bertucci's before, but it was rather dry and made with a white sauce instead of pesto. You could also give it a flavor boost by adding in some olives and sauteed onions. This recipe was very easy to follow and make, so I'm afraid I don't have any helpful tips but to eat it slowly so that you can savor every bite!

Elizabeth
